Mid Michigan fall is beyond beautiful! There’s loads to do in the Fall in Mid Michigan and we’re here to share a list of some of our fav fall activities for 2024. Let’s make it a great one!
Big Rapids fall women's volleyball
Big Rapids Park and Recreation puts on a women’s volleyball league every fall and they play games on Sundays starting in late September. The registration form through Big Rapids Recreation is due by September 11 and you can sign up as well as learn more about the schedule and fees by clicking down below!
Visit a farm market!
There are two farm markets we love in the Mid Michigan area that have all the fun Fall things going on from corn mazes to pumpkin patches to petting zoos and more! Heritage Farm Market can be found in Fremont and Nelson’s Farm Market can be found in Grant and both are such fun spots to visit!
Mid Michigan motorplex
Stanton, Michigan is home to the Mid Michigan Motor Complex which holds various racing events in September and October (as well as in the summer) that you won’t want to miss! They have a variety of different races that you can see by checking out their schedule!
Biking and hiking trails
With the colors popping in the trees, fall is the perfect time to enjoy some of the hiking and biking trails in the area, especially in Mid Michigan. Here are some we recommend you definitely check out:

Farmers Markets
Farmers Markets are a BIG hit in the Mid Michigan area, here are some of our favs:
-The Reed City Farmers Market – Wednesdays from 4pm-8pm at The Depot
-The Big Rapids Farmers Market – Fridays from 8am-2pm at 225 N. Michigan Ave
-Fremont Farmers Market – Saturdays from 8am-1pm at Fremont Marketplace
Saturday October 5 is the annual Fall Fest in Lakeview from 1pm-5pm at Lakeside Park. Enjoy the fun with cider and donuts, pumpkin bowling, face painting, disc golf, games, and so much more!
Hunting season
Mid Michigan is renowned for hunting and there are so many great spot all throughout. Click the button below to see the MI Hunting map.
Fish the river
Fall is the peak season for steelhead fishing when you’ll find the anglers flocking to the areas below to Croton Dam on the Muskegon River and below the Hesperia Dam on the White River! Learn more by clicking the button down below!
Head out to Remus September 6-8 for the Wheatland Music Festival! You can expect to hear a variety of performers throughout the weekend and it is guaranteed to be a great time!
