Big Rapids - Trails for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking

Canadian Lakes Castle nights of Lights

From the end of November to January 4, you can make a trip to the Canadian Lakes Castle! The Castle is open on Fridays and Saturdays and is covered in over 100,000 LED lights that make for a fun holiday destination!

Spend some time at Artworks - Big Rapids

 What is Artworks? It’s an arts and humanities programming hub that exists to provides opportunities for the community! What does this look like? Open studio pottery time, after school crafting, painting classes, book clubs, and more! Flat tire biking on the Dragon trail - Newaygo

The Dragon is a 45 mile trail around the Hardy Pond that is open year round and is great for fat biking in the wintertime for all who love a little adventure!

The Big Rapids Festival of The Arts

The month of February, 2025

This yearly Big Rapids event is a staple in the community! The Festival of the Arts in Big Rapids showcases a combination of exhibits from bands and live music to public art to workshops and more!

Mid Michigan is a great place to live year round, with activities being a highlight in the winter and river riding and lake life being a highlight in the summers, you can’t go wrong!
